School Holiday+Sales=SHOPPING

I've been trying to avoid purchasing more stash but.. oh dear... towards the end of the year, there are too many sales... just like mushrooms... scattered everywhere :P

Remember Craftworld? I did go there & was in awe. Not sure what to buy but I ended up bringing home 'something'... hihihi... Luckily, MCA didn't want to go to Ikea after that. Instead, we went to Pusat Sains. Uols tgk ler sendiri... Sempat posing dgn dinosour lagi... ^^ Once back to SP, I thought I was safe as I avoided most of my fav shops.. online & offline... Didn't do much related to sewing too... But at least I've finished my schoolwork, cleaned up my messy home (still halfway done :P), entertained my kids, gone blogwalking & updating my fb & started my sewing lesson with Kak Mah in Bedong. Hr ni jer belajar jahit tangan lubang butang. One more button hole to finish... hehehe... Tomorrow, will go back for more.... Start from d basic... but i like it...^^

Err... Did I tell u that I've shopped fabrics at Alamoda just now. I just couldn't resist the temptation lol. My lil gal chose the fabies. I paid jer... hihihi...

And guess what... D'Amani Cottontherapy is having a Qurban Sale & tomorrow is the last day! Just look at the fabies below.... So yummy! Ikutkn hati nk jer rembat semua....Just imagine....

Another Disastrous Shopping Day

I love fabrics. Maybe that's why I still went to this textile store (K*****)in SP though my last visit a few months ago was horrible.... Guess what? Nobody wanted to entertain me! :P

Yesterday, I was there once again, hoping that nothing would interest me... hoping that the 'people' there would be better. Well, I didn't need to be entertained as my main aim was to do some windowshopping but.... dear me... looking at all the gorgeous fabrics, my mind was made. The cottons were yummy & the offers were irresistable. Got to grab some lol...;D

Yet, though not sooo many customers were in the store, I just couldn't get anybody to assist me. Luckily, I asked a girl who was willing to lend her hands. Later, I learned that she's a supervisor. Thumbs up! Busy yet stil helpful. Then she told one of the salesgirls to assist me when another new fabric needed to be cut. After wandering around & deciding on which fabies to be mine, I searched for someone to help. But everyone seemed busy! Really? How come I saw a salesgirl... drowsy & sleepy? Did she take a short nap as her eyes were close when I passed by her? If there's a camera there, I'm sure I looked lost... trying so much to get any salesgirl's attention which was amazingly in vain. Just imagine...there're 2 girls entertaining a customer! The other salesgirl, on the other hand, followed the other customer. The rest... busy sgt ker? Hello, I thought the motto "Customer is always right" is a fave among salespeople. Why didn't it happen to me? Aku ni tak layak shopping ker?

I did try to get their attention but I looked invisible to them! When I saw the supervisor , I immediately asked for her help. Of course, she asked one of the salesgirl to help but.... that salesgirl fatly told her that she WAS BUSY... hmmm... waiting her customer to make up her mind yer....& the other salesgirls.. were BUSY too.... hmmmm..

I wasn't in mood to feel jealous yer. At least they should be considerate. I was there for almost an hour, feeling & touching almost all the fabrics & once I decided to purchase the items.... no one wanted to entertain me! Hahahaha!!! A big laugh lol. Deep inside... sgt ler sakit hati. I love shopping when there're no crowd but on that day... lengang jer tp semua sibuk sgt2....

So, I headed to the counter. Why should I waste my time waiting as if it's the last place which offers great buys in town. There are other stores & shops with better fabrics & much better service. I believe that one salesgirl realised I already saw red so she asked if I needed help... Too late lol! Another wanted to assist too! Hahaha! Too late. Maybe they saw the changes coz that supervisor asked too & my reply was easy, "Thanks but no thanks". Masa terhegeh2 nak beli tak nak layan.... dh tak mau baru nak layan? It doesn't make sense, kan?

I paid for the 2 fabrics cut earlier while muttering & cursing all those 'slow' people & wondered whether I should go there again in the future. Maybe not K***** SP. Maybe other K***** in other places.

Now, the moral values of this:
1. If you are under the weather, don't go shopping coz if the service is terrible, you'll be physically & emotionally drained. Your mood swings... very exhausting!
2. Always learn from mistakes.... Once bitten, twice shy. The problem is... I've been bitten twice... so how many times shy?
3. Never give up easily. Don't blame fabrics ya... they are innocent. Blame the people who make the sale & purchase complicated.

p.s. Always remind myself....LIFE IS NOT ALWAYS BEAUTIFUL!

At first Bernina caught my attention. I was all "ooohhhs" & "aaahhhs" but once I heard of the price, the tone changed to "oh"? It'll cost me the earth!
.... x mampu ler... hehehe...

Of course I'd love to own breezy Bernina yet money doesn't grow on trees, lol!

Next, Brother or Janome? Still cost me an arm & a leg... ouch!

My interests? Almost all... err...I like bags, clothes, quilt & maybe embroidery too? In short, I'm definitely the-not-so-new novice who's still trembling whenever I start sewing but still ambitious to dream BIG.... hehehehe... why not! Maybe it's time to upgrade my machine... I'm searching for a good tough lasting durable new member that is willing to work & play with me in my adventure in this world...... Plus the requests for more from those who want more from me....

Studying all the machines, examining all the pros & cons.. I become more helpless.

My Life & A Death

Miss this blog but I'm hopelessly busy doing something else (ye la tu). Just want to inform uols I went to MPH just now, saw "Sew Hip!" (July, Issue 30) & grabbed it before somebody else took it.. hehehe... When it's time to pay, I realised the staff had reserved the mag for me. So if you live in Sg Petani, one "Sew Hip!" is available here! I've got mine.. legaaa..

I also purchased "CrossStitcher", "American Patchwork & Quilting" & a book "Ibu Kool Bapa Hebat". Yeah... I know.. action speaks louder than words but can't get over the BIG "M" (malas) & the BIG "G" (guilty) yet. Btw I'm on diet now & believe it or not I lost weight! Busy dieting, heh? No worry. I still eat my breakfast, lunch & dinner & still consume my fave dishes once in a blue moon. I believe in the theory that we don't have to starve to death to lose weight. What we need is self-discipline.;D

Did I tell you that I went to kak Corine's place last week? Err.. I don't think so... Guess what! I bought gorgeous fabrics to be added in my collection. Mmg cun!I just couldn't resist the temptation. Rambang mata! Next time I'll show off my findings. Can't do it now coz the aroma of laksa is too much to bear. Having a hubby who can cook like a chef is a dream come true. I'm soooo lucky! "Bunga kantan" is not added tau. So I don't have to worry about the after-effects.:D

p.s. 3 days ago, my form 3 student, Nor Hazrah Idris passed away. She & Atikah were on Atikah's motorbike & a van hit them from behind. Fortunately Atikah survived with a broken leg. So sad as Hazrah was fatherless (her father died because of cancer), her mom is blind & her only sibling, her brother in Form 1, isn't as bright as her. I went to see her for the last time. She looked so peaceful as if she's sleeping. May Allah bless her. Al-fatihah...:( Her mom is a very strong woman indeed!

I'll be having a week break! Heaven! Hoping so much to finish some projects before Chinese New Year next week because my Cik Abe (MCA) hinted that we're going to Kelantan.... hehehe... His cousin is going to marry a Kelantanese lady so this is definitely going to be our "Cuti2 Malaysia". Well, let me see which fabies to use.... I've tried my very best to quit purcashing unless it's necessary.... ouchh!! (blh caya ke ni?) The pics below are living proofs of my 2010 obsession... I'm only showing some of my collection tau! All are part of my 2010 cotton collection. That's why I've reminded myself to use all of them for my 2011 projects! Maybe I was reluctant to cut & sew as I was a novice last year. (cantik sgt smpai sayang nk potong... hehehe..) This year, no more excuses or fears yer... My new year resolution is to produce whatever my heart wants... I'll sew whenever I want without forcing myself... These fabrics inspire me to look at the beautiful side of my world. That's why I love my world!

p.s. The beginning of 2011 was hideous but being surrounded by lovely people & materials has made 2011 the beginning of a fun & adventurous journey! I thank thee!
